3 Weeks in Darwin

We have been away for 6 weeks ,we come home a few weeks early think we were both a bit homesick after our first big holiday away in the caravan.
Hubby had lots of fun fishing, our friends have a big boat so he was able to go fishing in the ocean and also the swamps.
Here he is holding so bluefin tuna that he caught.

While fishing in the ocean they had some dolphins swimming along the side of the boat, how special is that .

While in Darwin my sister and her friend flew up and stayed a week so we caught up at the Mindil market.

We sat on the beach eating tea while watching the sun go down, there were hundreds of people doing the same thing.
I had a lovely baked potato filled with dryslaw, spaghetti bol ,cheese and sour cream oh it was yummy.

Our friends Alan and Lorraine had a stall at the market, they make such beautiful butterflies and Lorraine makes beautiful earrings, she gifted me a pair when we left and i have forgotten to take a pic of them.

While in Darwin hubby took me to i think its called dragon fly fabrics, wow it is such a jam packed store, lots to look at.

I bought some lovely xmas fabric at $6 a mt and i have always wanted a fussy cut mirror so grabbed one.

And how cute are these cushions i want to make one each for my smallest Grandsons.
I also bought some back issues of Handmade but forgot to take pics of those too lol.

It was awesome to get away and its even more awesome to be back home.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.
cheers Sheryl xx

It looks like you had a fabulous time. Funny I have friends who have just returned from Darwin and she "raided" the same fabric shop buying up some Christmas fabrics.

Glad you had such a great holiday, and were able to meet up with friends and family. That is some fish, wow! Love the market you visited and the beautiful things there. And the quote at the end is so true! Hugs, Valerie

it looks like you had a wonderful time - how long do you usually travel in your RV? we do 4-8 weeks in ours here in the states - heading out in September for fall in the mountains!

I love caravan holidays too but it's always good to get back home again. Seems you had a wonderful time, exploring and meeting up with family and friends. Is your new header full of delightful things stiched while on your trip?

HI Sheryl,

What a shame you headed off home early, but with time and more travelling under your belt, the longer trips are great - don't forget to make a fruit cake to take with you though! Looks like you enjoyed Darwin and of course Dragonfly Fabrics.
I had already become one of your followers, so looking forward to reading more about what you have been up to.

Sounds like a marvelous holiday! Seeing those dolphins must have been a thrill. And I love those foxie pillows - one of the cutest patterns I think I've seen.

It really looks like you've had a wonderful trip! Great photos you share. The tuna was big and so exciting to see dolphins. Here I have to go to the aquarium to see it. "Gone good, but at home best", we say in Norway. It is always good to come home again. :-)

Hi Shez. I commented on this post when you wrote it, but I seem to have the same problem as you. I commented using my phone and it doesn't appear to have arrived at your end. It seems to work just fine on my desktop computer. I had commented that the fishing looks fantastic. It must have been great fun for your hubby. Also, you found some good buys at Dragonfly Fabrics. The markets and sunset look lovely to visit. We will get up there.......one day......
